Hi,
I recently bought a couple of hanging net cages for my Phasmids - however I found these completely useless, particularly when using plenty of bramble for food! Although I have ordered a Flexarium Cage I have also bought a long glass aquarium which I have 'adapted'. Firstly I punctured loads of small holes in the lid (which will of course become one side of the tank). Then I cut some of the netting from the rubbish net cages and taped it to one of the sides (which will become the roof) to allow the Stick Insects to hang from. I then covered the lid with netting and placed on the tank. Once the tank was on its end I sealed the lid shut with strong bungy rope.
This set up should allow good ventilitation and good security for larger nymphs, whilst allowing easy access for cleaning etc.
I have attached an image of the setup.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
Regards
Tristan
