yep, thats dead right. I have had many mantids eaten by crickets before, and can prove to be a REAL pain. Mainly after shedding, when the skin is very soft on the mantid, is the only time I have experienced it. Although, as young nymphs, if offered crickets, will sometimes get eaten then. But just make sure there are no loose crickets in the container, when the mantid shed, if at all possible.
Cheers,
Ian

if the cricket is about the size of mantis or even 3/4 of the mantis size, it became a risk leaving them overnight without witnessing the crix been consumed by the mantis.

If you put more than one cricket in the mantis cage, and the mantis is not hungry, the crix (even with smaller size than mantis) will chew on your mantis leg or even kill your mantis. Never put more than one cricket in the same cage with a mantis especially if you have a small cage. I have withness group of 5/6 crickets killed a giant Malaysian mantis 3 times bigger than the crix.
