Is it possible for an ooth to be fertile if it's laid 24 hours afters mating?
I would like the answer to be yes :D

Hey Mandy,
Welcome to the forum :)
24 hours after mating? That's a tricky one. I am not so sure to be honest with you, as I would imagine she would have already produced the eggs, and would wait for them to be laid. Whether this would mean they could still be fertilised or not, I don't know.
What species are you referring to?

Phyllovates Chlorophaea.

:DI think yes, only cause all females have the eggs, they just need the boy to finish em off

Oh really Becky? I thought they may have to be fertilised before they were produced.
Well do keep us updated Mandy, will be interesting to see the result.

I will let you know. Lets say the first ooth isn't fertile, will the next ooth be or should they be mated again?

1 mating and you should several fertile ooths I think the number varies from species to species

As gurd says above, 1 mating should be fine. Although if you want increased hatch rates as time goes on, I suggest mating the female every couple of months.
ps - welcome to the forum Gurd :)
